VodafoneThree has teamed up with Community Fibre to bring high-speed full fibre broadband to underserved areas of London, addressing the city’s connectivity blackspots.
This partnership will provide 550,000 homes across all London boroughs with access to faster, more reliable internet, offering greater choice to communities previously limited by outdated broadband technologies.
The collaboration targets densely populated areas where residents have faced restricted options for upgrading to full fibre broadband.
Unlike older Fibre To The Cabinet (FTTC) connections, which offer maximum speeds of 67Mbps download and 18Mbps upload, the VodafoneThree and Community Fibre network delivers speeds up to 2.2Gbps for both uploads and downloads—60 times faster. This upgrade is critical for busy households juggling streaming, gaming, remote work, and online studies.

VodafoneThree’s strategy includes partnerships with multiple full fibre providers, including CityFibre, Openreach, and now Community Fibre, making it the UK’s largest full fibre internet service provider.
Max Taylor, CEO of VodafoneThree, stated in June 2025, “Through our strong network of partnerships, we’ve built the biggest full fibre footprint in the country. We’re thrilled to work with Community Fibre to enhance customer experiences and launch this summer.”
The initiative aligns with broader UK efforts to improve digital connectivity, particularly as the nation transitions from analogue to digital landlines. Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance, emphasized the need to address digital exclusion, telling Capacity, “We want to break down barriers so people aren’t disadvantaged by affordability, lack of skills, or confidence. Everyone should have access to broadband, mobile data, and suitable devices like laptops, tablets, or smartphones.”
