US-based Esports organisation, Turner Esports, and Ghana’s KiddieeSports, have announced a partnership aimed at empowering children in Africa through the realms of video games, Esports, and innovative technology.
This collaboration is driven by the belief that beyond entertainment, video games and Esports can be powerful tools for education, skill development, and personal growth. The partnership has five objectives, namely:
- Develop Adaptive Skills: Through engaging edtech and edutainment programs, children will develop critical adaptive skills that are essential for the modern world.
- Foster a Love for Learning: By integrating educational content with gaming, the partnership aims to instill a passion for reading and continuous learning among young minds.
- Access to Cutting-Edge Esports Technology: Providing state-of-the-art Esports technology, the initiative will ensure that African children have the tools to excel in the global Esports arena.
- Nurture Future Talent: Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of African Esports talent, the collaboration will offer training and support to aspiring young gamers.
- Promote Responsible Gaming: Emphasizing the importance of balanced gaming habits, the partnership will advocate for responsible gaming practices.
Read2Play Flagship Program
A cornerstone of this partnership is the flagship program, Read2Play. Now in its fifth year at the 21st Ghana International Book Fair, Read2Play merges books, literacy, and gaming, creating a unique platform for children to explore and discover.
In addition to Read2Play, the partnership seeks to bridge the gap between play, education, STEM, technology, robotics, drones, and entertainment. With education as the foundation, Turner Esports and KiddieeSports aim to unlock the potential of young Africans, preparing them for a bright future in a technology-driven world.
