Telecel Ghana and Huawei Ghana have signed a new framework contract in a bid to strengthen cooperation and partnership to enhance network experience and coverage across Ghana.
The agreement, sealed during the recent Mobile World Congress (MWC) held in Barcelona, aligns with Telecel’s ambition to lead Africa’s digital revolution, and Huawei’s vision of delivering digital solutions to individuals, homes, and organisations worldwide.
Having recognised the role telecommunication plays in shaping modern society, Telecel Ghana and Huawei Ghana have been collaborating since 2023. This has resulted in the deployment of over 500 4G+ sites as part of Telecel Ghana’s dedication to enhancing coverage, capacity in hotspots, and the overall availability of 4G services in Ghana.
CEO of Telecel Ghana, Patricia Obo-Nai, spoke on the company’s commitment to collaborating closely with Huawei to leverage the latest technologies and expertise. She explained that this symbiotic partnership aims to unlock unparalleled opportunities, ushering users into an era of world-class mobile connectivity.
CEO of Carrier Business in Huawei Southern Africa, Samuel Chen, also expressed Huawei’s commitment to accelerating the development of mobile data and fixed broadband in collaboration with Telecel Ghana. Additionally, the managing director of Huawei Ghana, Tommy Liang, highlighted the shared promise to advance the FinTech ecosystem, driving innovation and promoting economic growth in Ghana. Overall, the partnership between Telecel Ghana and Huawei Ghana seeks to harness technological innovations to improve network infrastructure, enhance connectivity, and foster innovation.
