Saudi Aramco has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding with Samsung Electronics to localise industrial 5G technology in Saudi Arabia. The proposed collaboration will contribute to the digital transformation of various industrial sectors in the Kingdom, such as energy, petrochemicals and manufacturing. Aramco plans to leverage advanced 4G and 5G technologies that can provide secure, fast and reliable communications to satisfy business-critical requirements of industries.

The companies aim to advance industrial 5G use cases with mission-critical communications. Saudi Aramco launched Aramco Digital Company in January 2023 to accelerate digital transformation within the Kingdom and the MENA region.
