Microsoft has started rolling out the Phone Link app for iOS to all Windows 11 users, which allows users to access their iPhone’s iMessage, calls, contacts and notifications on their Windows PCs. The app was first announced in February and was made available to a select group of preview program users. Microsoft plans to release it to all users by mid-May.
Phone Link is an upgraded version of the Your Phone app, launched in 2018, which was designed to save users from constantly checking their Android smartphone for notifications and messages while working on their PC. The Phone Link for Android was released in March 2022, with an improved tabbed interface for easier access to notifications and photos.
Stripe and the UK: A decade in the digital economy
To access iPhone messages and calls on a PC, Windows 11 users will need to pair the devices over Bluetooth. However, messaging features are limited by iOS and messages will only be available while the iPhone is connected to the PC. Group messaging and image and video sharing between iPhone and Windows are not supported.
