Mastercard is rolling out new offerings for its Canadian small business cardholders, enhancing its suite of tools and solutions through partnerships with leading brands such as Slack, Asana, FlexiRoam, and H&R Block.
The development reiterated Mastercard’s commitment to supporting small businesses by providing innovative resources designed to help them grow.
“At Mastercard, we’re continuing our long-standing support for small businesses with new resources to help entrepreneurs tackle real-world challenges with confidence,” said Nishant Raina, Vice President of Small & Medium-Sized Enterprises at Mastercard Canada. “With this expansion, we’re giving Small Business cardholders even more opportunities to scale efficiently at every stage of their journey, offering solutions to improve their businesses in both the long and short term.”
Small businesses play a vital role in the Canadian economy, with 66 cents of every dollar spent at a small business staying within the local economy, according to the Canadian Federation of Independent Business (CFIB). However, these businesses often face unique challenges, prompting Mastercard to expand its benefits to address these needs.
The new offerings include benefits for cardholders that cater to various business needs, such as global data roaming, tax filing assistance, and project management tools. Notable benefits include:
FlexiRoam offers global data roaming services to eligible World Elite Mastercard for Business cardholders, ensuring seamless connectivity while traveling. H&R Block provides discounts on both DIY and assisted tax filing services for new clients who hold a Mastercard Small Business Standard or World Elite card. Mastercard Business cardholders can also benefit from a 25% rebate on upgrades to Slack Pro and Business+, boosting collaboration and productivity.

Mastercard’s partners have also expressed enthusiasm about these collaborations. Stephen Picton, CEO of FlexiRoam Ltd., emphasized the value of seamless global connectivity for small businesses, while Hilary Zaharko, VP of Marketing at H&R Block Canada, highlighted the importance of making tax season easier for entrepreneurs. Peter Doolan, Chief Customer Officer at Slack, noted how their platform could drive growth for small businesses, and Asana’s Eron Sunando praised the opportunity to help Mastercard cardholders manage projects more effectively.
This expansion of offerings reinforces Mastercard’s goal to equip small businesses with the resources needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
