Ericsson has announced that MajBritt Arfert, the company’s Chief People Officer, will be stepping down at the end of May 2025, concluding a 38-year tenure with the telecommunications giant.
Arfert, who joined Ericsson’s Executive Team in 2016, will continue in her role until a successor is appointed.
Ericsson President and CEO Börje Ekholm praised Arfert’s contributions to the company, stating, “MajBritt has been a valued member of the Executive Team for almost eight years and has been instrumental to where we are today as a company. We have come to an agreement that this is a good time for a change, as we are entering the next chapter of Ericsson’s strategy.” Ekholm credited Arfert’s leadership in shaping Ericsson’s culture and people strategy, and noted her impact on the company’s growth.
Arfert expressed gratitude for her time with Ericsson, calling it “an incredible journey” and emphasizing her pride in the transformation efforts within the company. “Ericsson is well positioned globally to continue building on its industry-leading position and to expand into enterprise,” Arfert said.
“This is the right time for me to move on and to explore new adventures in life. Meanwhile, I will continue in full capacity as CPO during this period and will always follow Ericsson with passion and pride as it keeps transforming society and shaping the industry.” He stated
Ericsson is set to begin its search for Arfert’s successor, with the company aiming to ensure a smooth transition by the end of her tenure.
