The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has announced major upgrades at the center3 Internet Exchange Point (IXP) in Riyadh, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s digital infrastructure and supporting the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 agenda.
The enhancements, carried out at the Remal facility (RDC102), expand the availability of 100GE ports and introduce 400GE connectivity services to meet growing demand from global networks, content providers, and enterprises seeking high-capacity, low-latency interconnection.
“Demand for high-speed, resilient connectivity in the Kingdom continues to grow, and these upgrades ensure that the Riyadh IXP remains at the forefront of regional interconnection,” said Halil Kama, Director for the Middle East at LINX. “By enabling 400GE capabilities and expanding 100GE availability, we’re empowering networks to scale efficiently and deliver superior performance to end users.”
Since its launch in 2024, the Riyadh hub has become a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation. The upgrades also align with Vision 2030 initiatives such as smart cities, AI innovation, and cloud services, positioning Riyadh as a rising global digital hub.

As a subsidiary of the STC Group, center3 is accelerating its data centre expansion, with plans to reach 1GW of total capacity by 2030. Backed by more than US$3 billion already invested and an additional US$10 billion planned, center3 is building a next-generation, carrier-neutral ecosystem designed for scalability, sustainability, and reliability.
The partnership between LINX and center3, which began with the launch of the Jeddah IXP in 2019, continues to play a pivotal role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s interconnection landscape. LINX has also recently expanded its interconnection fabric in West Africa with LINX Accra, reinforcing its commitment to global digital growth.
