I&M Bank Limited has entered into a partnership with Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Centre to promote the responsible disposal and recycling of electronic waste. This initiative is in line with local and international conventions on e-waste disposal. Under the partnership, I&M Bank will provide e-waste collection bins at its headquarters in Nairobi as a designated e-waste collection centre. WEEE Centre will then ensure that the electronic waste is disposed of appropriately and in an environmentally friendly manner. The partnership will extend to the bank’s branch network and the I&M Group in the future.

According to WEEE Centre’s CEO, Bonnie Mbithi, technological advances have led to increased electronic waste generation, making responsible e-waste disposal a growing concern for the country.
