IATA (International Air Transport Association) has announced that dnata has become the first company to adopt Connect API, a new feature of IATA’s DG AutoCheck. The adoption of Connect API will help automate data transfer in the air cargo industry, enabling the digitalisation of the sector. The connectivity has been facilitated through IBS Software’s iCargo solution, which is currently being implemented throughout dnata’s global network.
Stripe and the UK: A decade in the digital economy
Connect API offers flexible applications in line with user requirements. For example, dnata plans to utilise it to connect its warehouse management system (iCargo) to DG AutoCheck to automate the creation of notifications to the captain. Other applications include the linking of DG AutoCheck to cargo management systems (CMS) and operational or accounting systems.
The adoption of Connect API will enable faster and safer transfer of information regarding dangerous goods in air cargo. With the current system, it can take up to 100 minutes to transfer information to flight crew. Connect API will make this transfer instantaneous, leading to greater speed, quality, compliance and safety in the sector. The development is expected to deliver significant benefits for dnata’s customers, optimizing their operations through more efficient data management.
