Hardy Pemhiwa, currently the C.E.O of Cassava Technologies South Africa, is a seasoned board-level practitioner with extensive senior management experience across Eastern and Southern Africa in financial services, development banking, telecommunications, media and infrastructure.
As part of his dedication in transforming Cassava Technologies into a global technology company, Hardy Pemhiwa pioneered the innovation of the Haven Cyber Technologies, to protect African enterprises and the acquisition of Telrad which increases their revenue by over 20% and brings further geographic diversification of their operations.
Today, casava technology ecosystem has a broadband network fibre of over 100,000km across Africa.
With his six years working experience as the Group Chief Executive & Managing Director of Econet, a diversified telecommunications industry in Africa and as the co-founder and director of Amana Capital Limited, a licensed investment management company in Kenya, He has helped companies in the region to raise more than $500m in debt and equity capital.
The C.E.O is a business leader who believes Africa is poised for a decade or more of rapid inclusive growth and transformation driven by technology,
He attended Queen Mary College, University of London, where he graduated with a B.Eng. in Computer Engineering in 1991 and holds an MBA from Edinburgh Business School. His banking career started in1993 where he worked for an African finance institution.
Hardy has passion for mentoring young people. He also enjoys reading and motivational speaking.
