Ericsson has announced significant changes to its Executive Team and Market Area structure, set to take effect on March 15, 2025. The restructuring aims to enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the company’s market leadership.
Leadership Changes
Per Narvinger, currently Head of Business Area Cloud Software and Services, has been appointed Executive Vice President and the new Head of Business Area Networks. Narvinger, who has been with Ericsson since 1997, joined the Executive Team in 2022 and has played a key role in driving the company’s cloud and software strategy.
Replacing Narvinger as Head of Business Area Cloud Software and Services is Jenny Lindqvist, who currently leads Ericsson’s Market Area in Europe & Latin America. Lindqvist, a seasoned executive who joined Ericsson in 2010, has been instrumental in strengthening customer partnerships and leveraging the company’s technology leadership.
Commenting on the appointments, Ericsson President and CEO Börje Ekholm stated:
“Per has successfully led the turnaround of Cloud Software and Services, and his extensive experience, deep technological understanding, and leadership skills will ensure that Networks continues to thrive. Jenny, with her strong industry expertise and leadership, will drive growth and innovation in Cloud Software and Services.”

Market Area Restructuring
As part of a broader operational overhaul, Ericsson is consolidating its market areas. Three existing regions—Market Area Europe & Latin America, Market Area North America, and Market Area Middle East & Africa—will be merged into two new Market Areas:
Market Area Americas – Headed by Yossi Cohen
Market Area Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) – Led by Patrick Johansson
Ekholm emphasized that the restructuring is aimed at improving customer experience and operational efficiency, noting that consolidating market areas will enable the company to better serve its clients while maintaining a strong customer focus.
Departure of Fredrik Jejdling
Ericsson also announced that Fredrik Jejdling, the current Head of Business Area Networks, will step down from his role on March 15, 2025, and leave the company on June 30, 2025. Jejdling has been with Ericsson since 2006 and has served as a member of the Executive Team since 2017.
Reflecting on Jejdling’s contributions, Ekholm stated:
“Fredrik has played a critical role in Ericsson’s turnaround and has been instrumental in establishing our leadership in programmable networks. We are grateful for his dedication and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Jejdling expressed gratitude for his tenure at Ericsson, highlighting the company’s strides in mobile network accessibility through APIs and software-driven solutions.
“With a solid foundation in place for the future of Networks, I believe now is the right time for me to explore new opportunities,” he said.
These leadership and structural changes mark a strategic shift for Ericsson as it looks to strengthen its position in the global telecommunications industry and drive further innovation in cloud, software, and network services.
