On Sunday, Elon Musk tested his social network’s game streaming capabilities by live-streaming himself playing through a Diablo IV dungeon. The stream, which was broadcasted on X (formerly Twitter), lasted for 52 minutes.
The initial part of the stream involved setting it up correctly with the help of a staff member. The maximum concurrent audience reached 1,300 viewers, with a total of 20,000 viewers by the end of the stream. Musk created a new handle specifically for this task and did not promote the stream on his main account.
During the stream, he played a tier 69 dungeon and hosted it on an account named cyb3rgam3r420. Musk and X CEO Linda Yaccarino have been working on expanding the short-missive website to include longer videos, payments, and other social network features.
According to the billionaire owner, game streaming is now available on X, but it may be challenging to set up. The owner mentioned that viewers who wish to comment on streams will be required to have subscriptions.
Elon Musk is using Activision Blizzard’s Diablo as a test case to potentially compete with Amazon.com’s Twitch in the game-streaming market.
By allowing paying subscribers to earn ad revenue from their posts, Musk aims to attract Twitch streamers who are dissatisfied with the monetization policies of the Amazon service.
