Alibaba Cloud, the digital technology and intelligence arm of Alibaba Group, has announced a collaboration with its long-standing partner Dubai Holding to upgrade its data centre in Dubai. The aim of this collaboration is to provide customers with the best possible digital solutions during their digitalisation journey.
The upgraded data centre will provide customers with a range of Alibaba Cloud’s proven infrastructure products, including the 6th Generation Elastic Compute Service (ECS) instance and the latest Elastic Block Storage (EBS) service. These products offer significantly higher computing capacity, higher bandwidth, lower latency and improved performance, providing enterprise customers with a wider range of cloud services covering network, storage, security and compute.

The upgraded data centre will also provide customers with the latest analytics tools to improve business operations and performance, including a revamped advanced database for faster, more efficient data processing. Additionally, industry-specific solutions and AI-powered services will be provided to address unique challenges in a customer’s industry and drive better results.
Alibaba Cloud’s commitment to the Middle East region was reiterated during the Cloud Day summit in Dubai, where the announcement was made. Daniel Jiang, General Manager of the Middle East, Turkey and Africa, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence, commented on the announcement, saying “By leveraging Dubai Holding’s local expertise and Alibaba Cloud’s trusted cloud-based technology, we believe that our upgraded data centre will be able to provide local businesses with more robust, secure and high-performing capabilities to achieve stronger growth and better respond to the evolving digital landscape across the region”.
