Leading provider of creative software, Adobe, has announced the upcoming release of its new generative AI-powered video creation and editing tool, Adobe Firefly Video Model, which will expand Adobe’s suite of AI-driven creative solutions.
Scheduled for a limited beta release later this year, Adobe Firefly Video Model will allow users to generate five-second video clips based on text or image prompts. The tool can also interpret camera angles, panning, motion, and zoom, providing users with a high degree of control over the generated content.
“We’ve invested heavily in making this model reach the level of quality and prompt understanding that videographers expect,” said Alexandru Costin, vice president of generative AI at Adobe. “We’ve focused on ensuring that the model accurately interprets prompts and respects the guidance provided by users, setting it apart from other AI video models.”
Adobe stresses that the video model is trained on public domain or licensed content, ensuring that it does not infringe on any intellectual property or trademarks. By training the model on the Adobe Stock database, which contains 400 million curated images, illustrations, and videos, Adobe guarantees that the generated content is free from recognisable characters or copyrighted material.
In addition to the video creation tool, Adobe is also introducing Generative Extend, a new feature in Premiere Pro. This tool can extend existing video clips by two seconds by generating an appropriate insert to fill gaps in the footage. The feature has already received positive feedback from Adobe customers, who have been eagerly anticipating its release.
The Firefly Video Model and Generative Extend promise to revolutionise the way content creators produce and edit videos. With these powerful tools, users can expect to streamline their workflows, enhance their creative output, and stay ahead of the curve in the rapidly evolving digital landscape.
