The Investment Promotion Agency Qatar (IPA Qatar) has recently signed agreements with global technology giants Siemens and Emerson to establish a center of excellence in Lusail City. This collaboration significantly enhances Qatar’s talent ecosystem and reaffirms its leadership in technological and software design.

The partnership with Siemens paves the way for collaboration in developing sustainable infrastructure projects in Qatar, leveraging Siemens’ expertise in infrastructure, industry and mobility. The focus will be on key sectors such as vertical farming, smart cities and transportation. As part of the agreement, Siemens is committed to nurturing local talent and plans to expand its workforce to over 300 full-time employees, facilitating knowledge transfer and creating new opportunities for Qatar’s workforce.
Emerson, through its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IPA Qatar, will expedite the expansion of automation technology and industrial software excellence in the country. IPA Qatar will support Emerson in establishing a Center of Excellence in Lusail City, serving as a central hub for fostering innovation, sharing technology best practices and developing local talent in sectors like energy utilization.
