In the quest to drive Nigeria’s digital transformation agenda, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has reiterated its commitment to accelerate collective prosperity through technical efficiency in the digital ecosystem in the country.
In a press release signed by the Executive Secretary, of Citizens Watch Advocacy Initiative (CWAI), Kenneth Aigbegbele, the agency emphasized that it’s necessary to leverage technology to bring the right level of economic opportunity.
The Director-General of NITDA Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, made this statement while emphasizing on the need for a safe and inclusive online environment, responsible for human and artificial intelligence practices.
Inuwa Abdullahi said: “With the Code of Practice for Interactive Computer Service Platforms/Internet Intermediaries in place, it will ensure digital safety in accordance with global best practices and content moderation to enhance safety.”
Meanwhile, the statement also captures the need for plans to stimulate timelines and achieve targets that are crucial for the country’s digital system for efficiency to enhance business operations, smart public services and job creation for the teeming youths.

Additionally, the agency said it’s pushing and leveraging narratives of Africa to the world where creators are being equipped with information. It also Nigerians can use AI, cyber security and online platforms to market, sell and export their services as well as talents to the outside world and also make a living from it.
