Ghana’s Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, unveiled a 10-15% increase in data bundle values across all mobile networks, effective July 1, 2025, to address persistent concerns over pricing and service quality in the telecommunications sector.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry’s Conference Room in Accra, the Minister outlined the changes, which include significant boosts in data allocations for subscribers of Airtel Tigo, Telecel, and MTN Ghana.
Airtel Tigo’s GHC400 bundle will rise from 195GB to 236GB, Telecel’s GHC400 bundle will increase from 190GB to 250GB, and MTN’s GHC399 Social Media bundle will now offer 214GB, replacing the GHC350 Flexi bundle’s 92GB, marking a 15% increase.
To ensure improved service delivery, the three major telecom operators have committed to a collective $150 million investment in network infrastructure by the end of 2025.

The National Communications Authority (NCA) will enforce accountability through a quality-of-service assessment in the final quarter of 2025, with sanctions for non-compliant operators. Additionally, quarterly billing integrity tests will be conducted to guarantee accurate billing practices.
Looking ahead, Hon. George hinted at potential price reductions through tax rationalization by the Finance Ministry and the introduction of a telecom tariff. “These measures will pave the way for a more affordable and reliable telecom experience for Ghanaians,” he stated.
The press conference was attended by CEOs of the telecom companies, the Ministry’s Chief Director, Directors, and heads of relevant agencies.
