Global technology services provider, DXC Technology, has revealed a five-year contract signing with locomotive manufacturer, Alstom to oversee the management of Alstom information system.
DXC seeks to support Alstom’s digital transformation by presenting innovative, sustainable mobility solutions as part of their extended partnership. With Alstom’s cloud infrastructure optimization, DXC aims to address challenges identified in the mobility sector.
DXC, under new contracts, will develop an efficient cloud strategy that spans 122 physical locations. Using advanced tools and agile methodologies, DXC aims to streamline Alstom’s vital IT architecture, targeted at modernizing its enterprise applications, including SAP. DXC will also aid Alstom in maintaining crucial data center infrastructure at specific locations to ensure data security and cost control.
Chief Information Security Officer and Vice President of Technology at Alstom, Stéphane Detruiseux, emphasized the need for secure and flexible IT infrastructure to accelerate agility and lay the foundation for future growth.
“To accelerate our agility and lay the foundations for future growth, we needed secure and flexible IT infrastructure…Migrating and optimizing our IT infrastructure to public and hybrid cloud environments is a key element of this transformation and working with DXC allows us to choose the most efficient and cost-effective solutions”, he added.
Executive Vice President and Global Lead, Cloud Infrastructure & ITO at DXC Technology, Chris Drumgoole, expressed pride in being selected to enhance Alstom’s innovation strategy and drive its digital transformation using cutting-edge, cloud-enabled business solutions.
“We have already implemented DXC Platform X to automate Alstom’s processes and consolidate workloads into a single, highly virtualized solution, and have seamlessly migrated over 1,000 virtual machines to Microsoft Azure”. he revealed.
