Fakheeh University Hospital in Dubai has achieved a significant milestone by using a drone to deliver medicines to a patient’s residence, showcasing the future of healthcare. The groundbreaking accomplishment involved piloting a drone within a 10km radius from the hospital to the patient’s home at Cedre Villas in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO).

The successful drone delivery was the result of a year-long series of trials conducted at DSO, a special economic zone dedicated to knowledge and innovation and overseen by the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ). The trials were carried out in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA).
