Apple’s highly anticipated mixed-reality headset is set to launch soon, but some employees are reportedly not convinced that the device is ready. According to a report from The New York Times, some workers have left the project due to doubts, while others remain skeptical about the headset’s potential for success, especially at a price point of $3,000.

Apple is expected to unveil the headset at its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) in June. Recently, the device was demonstrated in front of Apple’s top 100 executives at the Steve Jobs Theater in California, suggesting that a public unveiling is getting close.

Despite the glitzy presentation, there has been some internal turmoil about the future of the mixed reality headset. According to the Times, some employees have questioned whether the device is a solution in search of a problem, unlike the iPod or iPhone.
