Bayobab has announced the appointment of Ronsley Kubie as its new General Manager: Satellite Business and Partnerships, effective 1 July 2026.
In an official announcement, Bayobab expressed pleasure at welcoming Kubie, highlighting his extensive experience across the telecommunications value chain. This includes satellite communications, wireless technologies, enterprise connectivity, and large-scale network infrastructure projects across Africa and international markets.
Most recently, Kubie served as Africa Head of Sales at AXESS Networks / Hispasat, where he led regional commercial strategy and played a key role in driving the adoption of multi-orbit satellite solutions. His work spanned key sectors including Internet Service Providers (ISPs), mobile network operators, mining, and enterprise customers.

“Bayobab continues to strengthen our position as Africa’s leading digital infrastructure provider,” the company stated. “Ronsley’s appointment reinforces our satellite strategy and partnerships to accelerate the continent’s digital transformation.”
Kubie brings a wealth of senior leadership experience in the satellite and ICT sectors. He has held prominent roles such as Sales Director at Hispasat, Africa Business Development Manager at Parcus Group, and various senior sales and product management positions at major telecommunications firms including Intelsat, Vodacom, Verizon Business, Sentech, and Telkom SA.
His expertise covers enterprise sales, strategic partnerships, multi-orbit satellite solutions (GEO/MEO/LEO), VSAT technologies, business development, contract negotiations, and product strategy. Kubie also serves as a Non-Executive Director on the board of Ubuntu Football Academy, where he contributes to governance, fundraising, and strategic oversight.
