MTN Group has announced the appointment of two new Chief Executive Officers for its operations in Côte d’Ivoire and Zambia as part of its ongoing leadership refresh across key markets.
Abbad Reda has been appointed CEO of MTN Côte d’Ivoire, while Larry Annetts will assume the role of CEO of MTN Zambia.
Reda brings a wealth of experience within the MTN Group, having held several leadership positions across Africa and Asia. He most recently served as CEO of MTN Zambia.
Prior to that, he was CEO of MTN Afghanistan and served as CIO of MTN Ghana for nearly eight years. He also had a short-term assignment as CEO of MTN Liberia in 2, where he led a successful operational turnaround in a highly competitive market.
During his tenure in Ghana, Reda played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation, infrastructure expansion, and innovation.

Key achievements include sustaining market share above 50% in a competitive environment, growing the subscriber base from 200,000 to over 20 million, rolling out Mobile Money services, and implementing a full convergent real-time billing system.
He also chaired product and service innovation initiatives and led significant business intelligence and customer experience improvements.
Annetts, on the other hand, is a seasoned MTN veteran with 29 years of experience across the group. He has held key commercial and marketing roles in several markets, including South Africa, Nigeria, and Iran, where he most recently served as Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Commercial Officer at Irancell.
MTN highlighted his strong track record in customer-focused leadership, product innovation, and digital transformation, noting that his execution capabilities have consistently delivered strong business results.
